One-day trip to Okuaizu

I want to feel the deep green wilderness! I want to experience not only buses but also trains! I want to photograph the spectacular scenery! I also want to taste sake! The Okuaizu area is recommended for those who are greedy.

Oku-Aizu is an area in the southwestern part of the Aizu region of Fukushima Prefecture, part of the Echigo Mountains and one of the heaviest snowfall areas in Japan.

THE TADAMI RIVER FLOWS THROUGH OKU-AIZU, AND IN AUTUMN, VISITORS CAN ENJOY A MAGNIFICENT VIEW OF THE JR EAST TADAMI LINE RUNNING EAST TO WEST THROUGH OKU-AIZU AND THE AUTUMN LEAVES ON THE SURFACE OF THE RIVER.

In addition, from spring to early summer, visitors can enjoy the beauty of deep green and stunning mountains.

The popular "Touring Okuaizu" bus tour is a one-day trip to enjoy the breathtaking nature that is hard to find. It will surely satisfy those who love cameras and those who want to taste delicious shochu.

Travel Point 1: Visiting the Okuaizu Visitor Center

Echigo-Miyama-Tadami Quasi-National Park is a national park consisting of a part of the Echigo Mountains and the area around the Tadami River, which originates in Ozenuma. The Okuaizu Visitor Center, which just opened in July this year, introduces the rich natural environment of the national park, spots where visitors can enjoy the spectacular views of Okuaizu, and various activities.

Travel Point ➁Oshio Natural Carbonic Acid Field

This is a well-known tourist spot where natural carbonated water gushes out. Please taste the natural carbonated water, which is rare in Japan.

Travel Point ➂ Sake tasting at distillery "Nekka".

At the Nekka distillery, we aim to create a rice shochu that can only be made here in the world by adding distillation technology to the foundation of sake brewing technology.

In this bus tour, you will tour the distillery from the outside, and then visit the tasting room where you will have a chance to taste and listen to the stories of the distillery.

*The course does not go through Nekka when Nekka is closed (irregular holidays).

Travel point 4: Lunch at "Ki-no-Sato Yurari" to enjoy the rich nature of Okuaizu

Lunch was served at Ki no Sato Yurari.

We are particular about the ingredients and flavors of Tadami, and carefully select water and ingredients from our rich natural environment. Please enjoy Tadami's signature dishes using seasonal ingredients.

Please fully enjoy this special menu only available on this bus tour.

Travel Point 5: After dinner, enjoy a hot spring or a walk in the beech forest.

You can enjoy " Murayu in Fukazawa Township" or " Walking in the beech forest in the forest of Yonasawa ".

  • Fukasawa Township murayu

Abundant hot spring water, free-flowing from the source. The reddish-brown water with high iron content is said to be effective in relieving muscle pain, neuralgia, bruises, and other fatigue.

  • Yanasawa Forest Beech Forest Walk

Tadami was registered as a "UNESCO Eco Park" in June 2014 as a model region where nature and people coexist.

TRAVEL POINT 6: RIDE THE TRAIN (JR TADAMI LINE) AND ADMIRE THE SPECTACULAR SCENERY.

After getting off the bus, you will transfer to the train and enjoy the view from the window of the train.

Travel Point 7: Photograph the "First Tadamigawa Bridge" at the most scenic spot.

A bridge with a spectacular view that every camera enthusiast would like to photograph at least once. Watch for the time when the train passes by and take pictures with your smartphone or your favorite camera.

The timing of the Tadami Line train passing is a great photo opportunity. (Train is scheduled to pass at 16:08)

This itinerary does not guarantee that you will be able to take pictures when the train passes by.
