Wabako-meshi is a traditional Aizu local dish made by steaming Aizu rice and various ingredients in a bent cypress bowl.
The restaurant features a front courtyard that is a reconstruction of the grand Itozawa Jinya of the Edo period, a sunken hearth on the entrance earthen floor, a large paper lantern and a ledger room, and a high-ceilinged tatami room.
When you arrive in Aizu on the day of your visit, please call "Takiya" and tell them you have a set ticket for the Aizu Bus to make a reservation.

- Tsurugajo Castle, the symbol of Aizu Wakamatsu
The castle was built about 630 years ago, and is famous for its "impregnable castle" that withstood attacks during the Boshin War in 1868. 2011, the roof tiles were re-thatched from black to red to accurately reproduce the original appearance, making it the only castle tower in Japan with red tiles. Inside the castle tower is a museum where visitors can learn about the history of Aizu.

- Iimori," the scene of tragedy during the Boshin War
The name comes from its shape like a bowl of rice. This is the place where the Byakkotai, under the illusion that the castle had fallen when they saw the samurai residences around Tsurugajo Castle on fire, committed suicide. 19 Byakkotai members who committed suicide are buried here. The graves of the 19 Byakkotai soldiers who committed suicide are also here. There are 183 stone steps to the top, but a ramp conveyor makes it easy to climb up. There is also a sazae hall popular among tourists.

- Aizu Buke Yashiki
Aizu Buke Yashiki is a historical theme park consisting of historical houses and a museum, including important cultural properties of Fukushima Prefecture, centering on the restored Yoritomo Saigo residence, a retainer of 230,000 goku of the Aizu domain. At Kyuyo-tei Restaurant, visitors can experience the blessings of the four seasons through the delicacies of the historical township, local cuisine, and the tastes of the village nurtured by the Aizu Fields.

During the Boshin War, this place was used as a sanatorium for the new government army, and it has remained as it was at that time, unaffected by the war. In recent years, it was the busiest shopping street in Aizu until around the 1950s, but now there are Aizu lacquerware and painted candle stores, confectionery stores, and cafes where visitors can enjoy the scenery and experience Aizu's traditions.

- Higashiyama Onsen
Higashiyama Onsen, a hot spring resort rich in nature where one can experience the four seasons with cherry blossoms in spring, fresh greenery in early summer, autumn leaves in fall, and snow-viewing baths in winter, is said to have been discovered by the famous monk Gyoki about 1,300 years ago. The area has been visited by such historical figures as Hideyoshi Toyotomi, Toshizo Hijikata, vice-chief of the Shinsengumi, Byakkotai, Hajime Saito, Hirobumi Ito, Akiko Yosano, and many others. Popular tourist spots are also nearby, making it an ideal place to stay.
