Hachinohe Sake Brewery Direct Sales
Hachinohe Sake Brewery was founded in 1786 in the central town of Hachinohe City in the late Edo period (1603-1868) and is one of the leading sake breweries in Hachinohe City with its representative brands "Hakutsuru" and "Jokku".
Tours of the brewery are available by appointment, and in 2022, a direct sales outlet was opened in a building constructed in 1924 and designated as a nationally registered tangible cultural property. Visitors can enjoy tastings and corner drinking for a fee in the modern Taisho style space.

Hachinohe Sake Brewery Direct Selling Point - I recommend this place!
Hachinohe Sake Brewery's direct sales outlet opened on August 8, 2022 as a new spot in the city center.
It is surprising to find a sake brewery in the center of the city, but the building of this direct sales outlet is also a nationally registered tangible cultural property built in 1924! It features a Taisho modern exterior, and the nostalgic atmosphere inside the store makes it the perfect place to sample sake.
There is also a corner bar, which has recently become a hot topic, so you can enjoy drinks at the direct sales counter during the daylight hours and then go out into the city at night!
Hachinohe Sake is characterized by traditional sake brewing by the Nanbu Touji, one of Japan's three great toji (chief brewers).
Since Hachinohe was the domain of the Nanbu clan, the representative sake "Hakutsuru" was named after the family crest of the Nanbu clan, "Mukai Tsuru" and "Hachinohe" (eight).
Jokku" sake made at the Gotoh factory in the neighboring town is also loved by the locals. Please enjoy a pleasant time while experiencing the history and traditions of Hachinohe.
Check in to a hotel in the center of town on foot.
Stopover Spot 3. Hachinohe City Center (Yokocho Tour and Lodging)
Central Hachinohe City This is the place to be!
Miroku Yokocho is a popular spot for drinking and strolling in central Hachinohe.
It is called "Miroku (3-6) Yokocho" because it is built to connect Mikka-machi and Rokka-machi.
It is a symbol of Hachinohe, with 26 stalls crammed into a narrow street, offering local cuisine and seafood dishes. Each stall is about one tsubo in size, making it easy to mingle with the locals and making the drinks and food even more flavorful.
We also recommend the Hachinohe Ramen, a light, nostalgic taste of the old yatai stalls, to round out your visit to Yokocho!
Day 2: art, food and shopping!
Walk from the hotel to Hachinohe City Museum of Art
Hachinohe City Museum of Art
The former art museum regrettably closed in 2017, but will reopen at its current location in 2021. The theme of the Hachinohe City Art Museum is "An Art Museum that Sows Seeds, Nurtures People, and Creates Hachinohe 100 Years from Now: An Art Farm of Encounters and Learning. It is an art museum like a farm, where people and the city grow like a crop.

Hachinohe City Museum of Art, Hachinohe, I recommend this place!
The most distinctive feature is the Giant Room, a huge space with a 17-meter-high ceiling, located just inside the entrance.
This room can be freely entered and exited, and visitors can be seen bringing in drinks to study or hold meetings. Beyond the position and framework of a conventional art museum, the Giant Room is a space where art and people can expand their circle of encounters, making it friendly to many people.

Porta Otto I recommend this place!
A trattoria (Italian public bar) in the center of town.
From the back door and up the stairs you will find the stylish and cute looking "Porta Otto". You can eat such stylish and delicious food from noon! I felt so happy. This restaurant is like a hideaway that makes you want to secretly order a glass of wine from noon.
Dinner is also highly recommended, as it is filled with even more local ingredients.
