Famous for its apples, Aomori Prefecture is located in the northernmost part of Japan's main island of Honshu and is surrounded on three sides by the sea, making it a region where visitors can enjoy a rich variety of gourmet foods. Among them, "Oma tuna" is the top brand of tuna in Japan and attracts many gourmets. Aomori also boasts one of the nation's largest catches of scallops, squid, and sea urchins, making it a veritable treasure trove of seafood.
Furthermore, Aomori Prefecture is also home to many nationally renowned events and festivals, such as the Aomori Nebuta, Hirosaki Neputa, and Hachinohe Sanja Festival, as well as the spectacular views of Mount Hakkouda and the Oirase Stream and hot springs, which attract many tourists.
