Tochigi Prefecture is located north of Tokyo, and part of the prefecture is designated as Nikko National Park. Tochigi Prefecture is home to some of the best sightseeing spots in Japan, such as Nasu Highlands and Nikko, offering spectacular views of nature in each of the four seasons and a sense of history.
Nikko Toshogu Shrine enshrines Tosateru Daigongen, the deified deity of Tokugawa Ieyasu, the first shogun of the Edo Shogunate, and the shrines and temples in Nikko are registered as a World Heritage site.
Tochigi Prefecture is also rich in hot spring resorts such as Kinugawa Onsen and Shiobara Onsen.
Ashikaga Flower Park, said to be the most beautiful in the world in spring, is a superb photo spot.

Utsunomiya, the prefectural capital, is famous for its gyoza (dumplings), and many tourists visit to taste Utsunomiya's specialty.
