Travel Point 1: Funaoka Joshi Park Cherry Tunnel
Funaoka Joshi Park is one of the most famous cherry blossom viewing spots in Tohoku with more than 1,300 cherry trees in bloom. 2023 marks the 100th anniversary of the planting of cherry trees, and the park has been selected as one of the "100 best cherry blossom viewing spots in Japan" along with Shiraishigawa Tsutsumi's "One Thousand Cherry Trees".
Travel Point 2: Torihatayama Park Senbonzakura (Thousand Cherry Trees)
Eboshiyama Park (Nanyo City, Yamagata Prefecture) is called "Eboshiyama Senbonzakura" (one thousand cherry trees) because about 1,000 cherry trees are in bloom. Someiyoshino cherry trees are more than 120 years old, and the park is also home to one of the few clusters of Edohigan cherry trees in the world, with about 25 varieties of cherry trees to enjoy.
Eboshiyama Park is located overlooking the Okihama Basin, with a well-balanced arrangement of 1,000 cherry trees, pine trees, and maple trees. Visitors can enjoy the scenery and views of the four seasons: cherry blossoms in spring, shades of green in summer, and autumn leaves in fall.
